About Us

P.W. Tripp founded Tripp's Harley-Davidson® on January 1, 1956, in Roswell, NM. The original Tripp's Harley-Davidson® dealership was located inside a small building about the size of a 2-car garage with a dirt floor. While in Roswell, the dealership moved 2 times before moving the dealership to Amarillo in September 1963 to a location on Fillmore Street. P.W. later moved the store to the Georgia Street location. On January 1, 1986, after 30 years of service, he handed the keys to his son, Terry, and retired to the life of a cattleman in Turkey, TX. Terry took over and continued the legendary operation of Amarillo's only authorized Harley-Davidson® dealership. In 1997, Terry decided to relocate. He moved from Georgia St. to I-40. On December 1, 1997, Terry hung the Bar and Shield where it rests today. In 2008, the 3rd generation Tripp took over with Jason becoming the General Manager, and sister Christy the MotorClothes® & Merchandise Manager. Youngest sister Carrie worked in MotorClothes® & Merchandise, as Manager before leaving to start her own business. In March 2010, the dealership was remodeled and expanded. Locally owned and operated for more than 56 years, Tripp's Harley-Davidson® continues to believe that customer service is their number 1 priority.
